About the Friesian Horse
With a heritage spanning centuries and a remarkable story of survival, the Friesian horse stands as one of the most noble and striking breeds. Originating in Friesland, a province of the Netherlands, Friesians were historically used in agriculture, as war horses, and for carriage work. Today, they are cherished for leisure riding, driving, and dressage—instantly recognizable by their powerful build, flowing manes, and jet-black coats.
At The Link Farms, our BLACK GOLD Breeding Program is dedicated to producing Friesians of exceptional health, conformation, and temperament. We proudly align with the breeding standards set by the KFPS (Koninklijk Friesch Paarden-Stamboek) and FHANA (Friesian Horse Association of North America)—the official worldwide registry for Friesian horses, maintaining one of the most tightly controlled equine registries in the world."
